Someya Taam - Animator in France
The reason why I chose a holiday job abroad was mainly because I wanted to get away from the cold and rainy weather in the Netherlands for a bit longer and I wanted to experience new things. Vacansoleil was the first company that came to mind and so I took the bold step and applied. I was placed on a campsite in the centre of France and I love it! The staff is very friendly and because I can't yet speak French very well, they are all willing to help me. I work from Sunday to Friday and have a day off on Saturday. My working day starts at 9.45am and then we have a creative activity till 12 noon. I look after children from 5 to 12 years old, which I really enjoy. In the afternoon we have outdoor games on the program from 3 to 5pm and in the evening we organise a mini-disco.
Every week we rehearse with the children for the show that the guests themselves will perform on Thursday night. Besides that we put on a show every Friday with the animation team and for that we rehearse 3 times a week for an hour and a half. It's a lot of work but it's so much fun!
In my spare time I like to hang out with my colleagues. We eat together and we listen to each others favourite music . On my day off I like to go shopping or we go sightseeing in the area. There are so many things to see! I live together with a Dutch girl in a mobile home on the campsite. It is clean and there is a lot of space. It feels just like home. I can't wait to go on another adventure next year! So far, I have had a great time. Thank you to Vacansoleil Camping Jobs for finding a campsite for me where I can use my French a lot!
